    • Unusual views of cows wandering all over the fields and roads. Roughly half way between Stroud and Nailsworth, two towns. Lovely big bed and lovely fresh food. Big open fire Staff are very pleasant. Nothing too much trouble
    • This was our 2nd time staying at The Bear we just love it. Sitting in the garden is so relaxing even though it does get very busy. The building is beautifully presented and very tastefully decorated. We have been lucky on both stays to be given the same room room 6 which is just lovely. We like to eat in the bar as it is less formal and the food is excellent, good menu choice and reasonably priced. Breakfast is very tasty and the restaurant has a nice view out over the common. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Excellent safe parking on site.
    • The location of the property is perfect, surrounded by a fantastic scenery. The pub garden is massive however unfortunately, we werent able to enjoy it as it started raining as soon as we arrived. The room was a bit disappointing as it overlooked the main road. The room was also quite dark and didnt have airconditioning I was aware of this which was fine when we were there but I can imagine how hot it wouldve been inside if we were there during the heatwave. Bathroom was spacious and modern. We had our dinner at the pub and while the food was good, service was a bit on the slow side. Its understandable though as they were quite busy when we were there and the diners sat in different areas of the hotel so it must have been confusing for the staff.Breakfast was good although it was such a small portion. We still had a great stay nevertheless.
    • staff were friendly n polite, was great they had eu plug adaptor bathroom wall paper ROCKED
    • Staff, breakfast, bar, detailed notes on local hike and dog friendly
